Our Journey - Prakash Marg Rehabilitation Center
Established in November 2017, Varanasi
The story of Prakash Marg Rehabilitation Center began in November 2017, with a vision to provide essential rehabilitation services to individuals struggling with addiction, mental health issues, and physical disabilities. Founded in the heart of Varanasi, the center was a dream realized by our founder, Gaurav Sharma, who had a deep-seated passion for helping individuals reclaim their lives and find a path to recovery.
Our Founder - Gaurav Sharma
Gaurav Sharma, the driving force behind the center, has always believed that the greatest gift one can offer is a second chance. His commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable individuals and communities led him to establish Prakash Marg. With years of experience in the field of rehabilitation and mental health care, Gaurav envisioned a holistic approach to recovery—one that encompasses both physical healing and emotional well-being. His deep empathy and understanding of the challenges individuals face on their journey to recovery have been the foundation of Prakash Marg's success.
Efforts to Establish & Manage the Center
The journey to establish Prakash Marg Rehabilitation Center was not an easy one. From the very beginning, Gaurav and his team put in tireless hours of work, ensuring that the center could offer a safe and supportive environment for those in need.
Infrastructure Development: Starting with a modest space, the center has grown into a well-equipped facility, with modern treatment rooms, therapy spaces, and comfortable accommodations for residents.
Team Building: A dedicated team of healthcare professionals, therapists, counselors, and support staff was carefully selected. Training was a key part of ensuring that every team member aligned with the center's core values of compassion, dignity, and holistic healing.
Personalized Care: Emphasizing individualized care, Prakash Marg focuses on the unique needs of each patient, providing tailored rehabilitation programs that address both the mental and physical aspects of recovery.
Challenges We Faced
Every journey has its challenges, and ours was no exception. From day one, we faced numerous obstacles:
Funding & Resources: Establishing a center that could offer high-quality care required significant investment. At times, securing adequate funding was a struggle. Gaurav’s persistence, however, helped garner both local and national support to keep the center running.
Awareness & Outreach: In the early stages, raising awareness about the center and its services in a city like Varanasi was a challenge. Through outreach campaigns, partnerships with local healthcare institutions, and word of mouth, we slowly gained the trust of the community.
Stigma Around Rehabilitation: Addiction and mental health issues often carry a heavy stigma, making it difficult for individuals to seek help. Overcoming this societal barrier required ongoing education, compassion, and a commitment to building a judgment-free environment for recovery.
Despite these hurdles, Prakash Marg has flourished, evolving into a leading rehabilitation center known for its comprehensive approach to recovery.
Our Commitment to Society
At Prakash Marg, we view our work as more than just a job—it’s a mission. Our commitment to the well-being of society extends beyond the walls of our center. Through various community outreach programs and initiatives, we aim to:
Raise Awareness: Educating the public on the importance of mental health and addiction recovery is a key focus. We regularly host seminars and workshops to break the stigma surrounding these issues.
Free Counseling and Support Groups: We provide free counseling services and run support groups to help individuals struggling with addiction or mental health issues, ensuring that everyone has access to help, regardless of their financial background.
Rehabilitation for the Marginalized: Prakash Marg actively works to support those from marginalized communities who may otherwise be excluded from receiving treatment due to socio-economic factors.
